Wookiee Life Day

It's the most wonderful time of the galactic cycle, so the Justice Pals are back with a new episode featuring Josh Hallem. We mentioned not being overly excited about Avatar and the question was raised as to whether we are too old to get excited for action movies now. Apparently we're not though, because this trailer made me pee a little Full Throttle energy syrup:

Grab a mug of Hoth Chocolate and settle in with this episode.

Justice Pals announcement time!

Hey remember how we used to do a podcast? Okay, we still do, but it was delayed first of all by my moving (to a different house no less!) and then by me spilling coffee into my laptop keyboard (bad decision). So we'll have a new episode coming out shortly after I get that keyboard replaced.

Also, for those of you who have come to see us at Urban Improv at any point over the past five or so years, we made a special impromptu announcement this week letting all the attendees know that our time as the regular first half group has come to an end. We may still be an irregular first half group showing up from time to time to drop some hilarity (and then pick it up again-- say what you will about us; we are not litterbugs!). We'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for another podcast coming soon!

A newish episode

This episode wet on-line last week, and I forgot to put a blog post up with it.
So here you go, it features Allen Morrison and Vicky Van.

We referenced the tagline from this trailer a bunch:

We looked into the future and laughed about this movie, which turns out to be getting good reviews (did not see that coming):

And this particular thing didn't come up, but I think we all believe that any self-respecting video gamer feels this way about the two games represented here:

It's all here!

Taylor Found!

Bill Taylor finally makes it over. Wanna see some funny videosÉ How about this:

Or a thing from that remixed into this:

Video not your thing? Give this podcast episode a try.

The Eiger Sanction Special

Sometimes the plot synopsis is enough. To share in this episode's exposition of Clint Eastwood's classic, The Eiger Sanction, is Dave Thorvald Olsen, of Choogle On! with Uncle Weed and the Canucks Outsider Podcast (as pictured below, far right(bus far right that is, not the guy on the sidewalk)).

Also discussed are Nic Cage's Superman costume test (observe with caution):

And Joe Pesci's hip hop opus, Wiseguy:

All that and more, right here.

Taylor Watch Update!

This is Bill Taylor:

Luckily, he has been recovered following the events of our latest podcast, but we encourage our listeners to continue to keep an eye out for him. He may disappear at any time. Vigilance could be your bestest friend.

Also, it may be like watching a PVR'd hockey game, but get in on the excitement of Taylor Watch 2009 by listening to our latest podcast.

Free Pass with Allen Morrison

We're back and going number free on our new episode.

Shaun returns from Hawaii where this happened:

Allen's been secretly blogging, but the secret's out now. See what he does at How You Can Be Cool (it works!).

Episode 2.17

It's a new episode and the last for a while (vacation time!) so enjoy as we fight our way through Vancouver's record-breaking mugginess and our no-show guest (who at least had the decency to give us a call).

Some related videos:

You think The Phantom Menace ruined your childhood? Take a look at the first couple minutes of this:

And of course you've probably seen this, but it's pretty good, so watch Shatner doing Palin again:

All warmed up? Here's the episode.

Episode 2.16 with Jeff Penner

Our guest this week was Table 23 member Jeff Penner. Here's his blog, which is fantastic. Note to future guests: have a blog, preferably with a bunch of movie and comic book and comic book movie commentary. It's just the sort of thing we like to link to.

Of course, we'd be remiss in mentioning Tommy Wiseau so much this episode without giving you a little video taste of the visionary behind the room, so here's the video we watched to get in the mood for our "Tommy Amos" reading.

And you'll find our very special episode right here.

Episode 2.15 with Devin Mackenzie

Not a whole lot to link to for this episode, so here's some pictures of the ugly house around the corner.

Also, Devin's podcast, The Exploding Sandwich can be found here.

And this episode of our podcast is right here.

Episode 2.14 with Allen Morrison

We talked about a bunch of stuff. Here are some examples.

There was this commercial for Miracle Whip, that Eric rightly hated (not embedable, hopefully the link still works).

The Fenslerfilm GI Joe PSAs (search fenslerfilm on youtube to find more if you haven't seen them):

And the fine Star Trek TNG edits found at

And the episode can be found right here.

Episode 2.13 with Diana Frances and Ian Boothby

We have two members of Canadian Content on the show to talk about some upcoming movies and some other stuff and some stuff that isn't either of the first two.

Cut from the episode was a call from Mike Fly, but we don't want to miss the chance to promote the Improv Monologue Project that he's working on, so here's a link to that!

Also, here is the show.

Have a nice day!

Episode 2.12 with Adam Pateman

Episode 2.12 is here. In it we hear a little more about Miami Mike. Here's a video to inform you a little more about his operation:

Friday Night Magic Tournaments at One Stop Shop Cards and Games in Tinseltown Mall in Vancouver from One Stop Shop on Vimeo.

Also, check out some pics here. Is that a pokemon tattoo?

Episode 2.11 with Allen Morrison

The episode is right here.

Also, here are a few videos we mentioned.

There's Eric's most recent commercial appearance:

And Allen's Peer 1 commercial:

And Steve Canoe takes on a Prince George Cougar. Pay special attention to the couple between us and the penalty box and how much they're enjoying SC's shenanigans.

Episode 2.10 with Devon Lougheed

Here is the episode!
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the old Farting Yoda video. It was from a time before youtube, created around the year 1998 if memory serves. Hell that's before Y2K when we had to replace the internet. Someone was kind enough to put Godzilla vs Disco Lando up on the youtube though, so here's that.

Of course, if you like fart jokes and 20th century viral videos, you'll remember the Farting Preacher.

Isn't that somethin'? Isn't that somethin'?

Also as promised, here's Jeff Penner's Coolacopia blog that will teach you how not to behave when you go see Watchmen.

Episode 2.09 with Russ Brummer

Hey, it's a new episode, at long last. Right here!

Also, in case you missed it, you'll want to see John Oliver's post-oscar clip on from the Daily Show. Click on the link. It's very funny.

Oh, and by the way, check out the new Behind the Scenes with Eric and Shaun video blog over here.

You can also find the videos on itunes by searching podcasts for "behind the scenes with movieset".

Episode 2.08 is up now with Nick Harrison as our guest

Episode up now. We mentioned a lot of things. Here they are:

So here's my John Mayer video:

And a link to Nick's British Bobby video.

And the Lonely Stormtrooper:

And Patton Oswalt talking about the Star Wars Prequels:

Episode 2.07

Damn, it's been up since yesterday, and I forgot to blog. So here you go. One episode.

And one picture that shows what should have happened after episode 1 (of Star Wars, not the JPPC):

There should also have been one of Rick McCallum. I mean, let's be honest here people.

Hey, don't forget to come to Nerdprov, a new show featuring the Justice Pals and hosted by Ian Boothby at Chivana this Monday, February 9, at 8pm. That's at 4th and Vine in Vancouver. You'll like it and it's free this week.

Episode 2.06

Allen Morrison joins us on the program this week. He's never heard Chocolate Rain. Never. That fact, and the promise that we'd put Chocolate Rain on the blog got cut from the show, but that doesn't stop us from putting up this embarrassingly out-dated link:

We'll see if we can find anything else that's super hilarious. I've heard some things about cgi dancing babies.

Another fun fact cut from the show was this story about Jacques Chirac getting attacked by his depressed Maltese.

Not cut from the show was our promotion of this month's Pub Quiz, happening at the Anza Club (8th and Main) this Wednesday the 28th of January at 8pm. Get there early to register your team (more info here).

Also not cut were our Matt Berry impressions. Who, you ask? The guy whose voice is in this commercial:

This Guy!

Anything I forgot? Ummmmmmmmmmmm......
Oh, the episode.

Episode 2.05

That's right, we skipped the blog post for 2.04 (with Riel Hahn). You know where to get it though (search for Justice Pals in your iTunes if you don't). And we'll blog when we damn well feel like it. Or when we find a great infomercial, like this:

And here`s 2.05 with our guest Kristin York.
